The 100 foot towers are by no means off the table, and there are problems, as you all know, with the underground. In the petition, for example, either OH or UG, the sub station near Buddy Dog, is in a designated residential area (RES A), and as such structures are not allowed to be over 35 feet tall in a res A zone.
- Eversource right off the bat starts asking for exemptions to Sudbury’s bylaws, one of which is of course, to plant the 100 foot tall “shielding mast” at the substation – in essence, a tower.
- They also seek exemption from Sudbury’s construction bylaws – so they can work on Saturdays from 9am to 5pm,
- They are asking for exemptions from Sudbury’s noise by laws.
