Fundraising News, June 23, 2016

The Protect Sudbury Fundraising Committee would like to thank everyone who helped to make our June 18th Family Fun Day, BBQ and Trail Walk event a success.

Anne Stone, 8th generation farmer, shared her beautiful Stone Tavern Farm with us which was truly a once in a life-time opportunity for our community. Her land is a prime example of what we are fighting to preserve.

Nick Chunias and Juliana’s Catering delivered great food with a smile. All attendees had rave reviews for Nick’s delicious BBQ, wood-fired pizza, and salads with huge props on the home made dressings. We are grateful for their flexibility as we worked towards the day of the event.

Thanks go, as well, to the entire Protect Sudbury community who donated time and talent to creating a special day for the community. To all the volunteers who checked people in and manned the merchandise tables, who painted faces and organized sack races, those who spruced up the rail bed and dotted the trees along the way with quotes about nature, and those who set up and cleaned up – we could not have done it without you.

Additional thanks go to the many local businesses who generously sponsored the Family Fun Day.

Proceeds from ticket sales help Protect Sudbury fight Eversource and preserve the town of Sudbury. We are in a new phase of our legal strategy and we have hired experts to testify on our behalf. You can get more information on that, and more, in the legal update in this newsletter.
