Thoughts on Trees

The Eversource plan would strip approx. 27,000 trees from Sudbury. There are 26,000 trees in the 843 parcel of land known as Central Park, NYC.
What does Sudbury look like with 27,000 fewer trees? What does Lotus Blossom look like without it’s trees buffering it from Station Road? What does your walk along hop brook feel and sound like, once it is forever changed to monopole alley? How is your enjoyment of conservation areas change when you go from walking in shaded colorful New England forest brimming with sounds of birds and other wildlife to walking on herbicide treated ground cover, dotted with 100 foot tall monopoles strung with humming wires overhead. Once it’s lost, it’s lost.

Those Power Lines, those Power Lines,
I do not like those Power Lines!
Not overhead, not underground,
Not through Conservation Land,
Not in our Town!
Do you like them over a rail bed?
Do you like them under a rail bed?
Not on a rail bed, not underneath,
Not through our wetlands,
Eversource let us be!
Would you like wires on a bike?
Would you like wires on a hike?
Not on a bike, Not on a hike,
No deforestation and herbicides,
Clear cutting trees just is not right!
